Weekend class on Islamic principles

Hyderabad: In a first, Shahi Masjid at Bagh-e-Aam at Nampally will hold weekend classes in Islamic principles for children and teenagers from Sunday onwards. 

“During the week days, the students are busy with academics and are unable to allot time for Islamic studies. So we have decided to conduct weekend classes,” said Mohd Arif, coordinator of the classes. 

The classes will be held between 10 am and 2 pm and will include recitation of the Quran, its translation, teachings of Prophet Mohammed, Islamic values, moral sciences and other aspects of the religion. “Noted religious scholars will deliver lectures on the life of important figures in Islam. Special emphasis will be laid on imparting moral values,” he added.
