Vijayawada: MLA quarters to be ready by Aug. 12

The CM informed that MLA quarters, government officials’ quarters and bungalows would be completed by August 12 this year.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to complete the construction of MLA quarters before the next Assembly session began.

He conducted a review meeting with the APCRDA and Amaravati Development Corpora-tion officials at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on Thursday.

He enquired about the progress of MLA quarters’ construction in Amaravati and directed the officials to take measures to complete its construction before the next Assembly session started. He asserted on the need to complete construction of roads as connectivity to the new capital was important.

He said that Amaravati will get a shape after completion of the roads and also directed for completion of greenery and electrification works on Amaravati roads on a war footing.

APCRDA commissioner Ch. Sreedhar explained that projects worth Rs 51,687 crore were launched in Amaravati and that they were progressing in different phases. He said that of the works worth Rs 19,769 crore relating to trunk infrastructure, works worth Rs 15,414 crore have been completed up to 78 per cent, 88 per cent of land pooling scheme works were in progress and that 66 per cent of the works relating to  government buildings were under construction in Amaravati.

He said that a majority of the works would be completed by December,  2020 and that the LPS works would be completed by April, 2022.

The CM informed that MLA quarters, government officials’ quarters and bungalows would be completed by August 12 this year.

Villas of ministers, judges, chief secretaries and secretaries will be completed by August 16, Secretariat towers by July 18,  2020 and the first phase of High Court towers will be completed by December 28, 2020.
