Kanimozhi asserts DMK men will stop distilling, selling alcohol

Coimbatore: Besides implementing prohibition, the distilleries run by DMK functionaries would also be closed if DMK comes to power, asserted DMK MP Kanimozhi.

Speaking to journalists at the Coimbatore international airport on Monday, Kanimozhi said that besides implementing prohibition, all distilleries would be closed.

Responding to a query by CPI leader R. Nallakannu that DMK, which promised prohibition, has been running most of the distilleries in the state, Kanimozhi said that even those owning the distilleries have made a promise to stop the manufacture and sale of liquor.  “They will stop sales and supply of liquor to other states also,” she said.
