IIM-Bangalore PG batch flush with offers from corporates, MNCs

More than 140 companies from across the globe sent recruiters to the institute for the Lateral and Final Placements.

Bengaluru: While a total of 462 offered were received by 420 students of the PGP class of 2016-18 at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), a whopping 34 per cent of the calls were from the Management Consulting sector.

More than 140 companies from across the globe sent recruiters to the institute for the Lateral and Final Placements.

Deloitte USI became the largest recruiter of the session making 18 job offers, closely followed by The Boston Consulting Group (17), AT Kearney (16) and Accenture Strategy (14).

Sales and Marketing sector turned out to be the second largest recruiter, offering 57 jobs to the students. Samsung Electronics offered the most in this domain (10). Conglomerates recruited in good numbers for their leadership tracks in general management positions with Vedanta leading with five offers.

Microsoft offered four jobs out of 29 to be the biggest recruiter in the Information Technology (IT) domain. A total of 28 offers were made in the fast-growing analytics space out of which nine were offered by EXL Services.

In technology consulting domain Price waterhouse Coopers made the maximum of 12 offers, out of 27. While a total of 26 jobs were offered under the General Management sector, Amazon (8) became the largest recruiter this time in the e-commerce sector.

Other prominent recruiters in their respective domains included Goldman Sachs (9), ICICI (9), Deutsche Bank (6) and AnandRathi Wealth Management (5) among many others. Reacting to the placement session, Chairperson of Career Development Services at the institute Prof Ganesh N. Prabhu said,
