Hyderabad: A case has been registered on the Delhi Public School, Diamond Point, in the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on allegations that the CBSE affiliation was given to one society and the school is run by another society.

Since the affiliation cannot be transferred, Mr Vijay Gopal from the Forum Against Corruption registered a case. Based on the complaint, the commission has ordered the district collector to submit a detailed investigation report.

Mr Gopal said, “The school got the affiliation in the name of Little Angel Educational Society but the DPS Diamond Point School claims that it is being run under the Vidyananda Educational Society. It is illegal according to the norms.”

Alleging that there were fee irregularities, Mr Gopal alleged, “The school has included non-academic activities in the tuition fee and keeps increasing the tuition fee and does not give parents the right to choose the activities as such."

He alleged that the school had not been giving any choice to parents to choose non-academic activity and had included karate, cricket, football, boxing, etc in its fee structure. "The fee being collected by the school Nursery & Prep sections is Rs 78,480 per annum, Classes I to V Rs 86,110 per annum, Classes VI to X Rs 93,740  per annum. Bus transport charges vary from Rs 29,000 to Rs 31,400 a year," Mr Gopal claimed.

Based on the complaint, the NCPCR asked the collector to submit a detailed investigation report within 20 days stating whether the school has recognised, financial irregularities and whether the school was taking fees according to the RTE norms or not and other issues.
