Krishna district PCI beats Telangana

Vijayawada: Krishna district has achieved a record in per capita income (PCI) at Rs 1.61 lakh, surpassing three Southern States. Krishna district crossed the PCI of Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States.

Telangana's PCI is Rs 1.59 lakh. Krishna district PCI, for the year 2016-17, was Rs 1,61,097, said District Collector B. Lakshmikantham, adding that Tamil Nadu PIC was Rs 1,57,116, Telangana PCI was '1,58,36 and Karnataka PCI was Rs 1,59,893, for the year 2016-17.

Giving details of the district-wise GDDP and broad sectorwise GVA of 2016-17, the krishna collector said the sum of GVAs of three districts — Dr Y.S.R. Kad-apa district, Srikaku-lam and Vizianagaram —  nearly equals that of GVA of Krishna district at Rs 78,395.

NITI Aayog , AP sign pact

Niti Aayog and Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for developing a monitoring mechanism, including  collection of data to improve performance of 115 most aspirational districts in the country.

The objective is to design, develop and deploy an indicator-based digital system to guage the implementation progress and performance monitoring Niti Aayog’s transformation of most aspirational districts of India, train the district-level.
