No deviations from NGT norms at any cost: P Narayana

He observed that with the NGT order all hurdles in the construction of the capital city have been removed.

VIJAYAWADA: The Minister for MA&UD Dr. P. Narayana said that the startup area would be developed in three phases. Speaking to the media on Friday, the Minister said that the legal issues between Singapore and AP were resolved. Responding to a query, he said the State Government will remove all the houses that have been built within 100 mts from the river as per the order of NGT. 

“If the CM's house is within the purview of the 100 metres, it will also be removed”, said Dr. P. Narayana. However, he said, “It needs to be examined as to whether, CM's house falls under that purview or not.” All constructions within 100 metres would be removed, the Minister reiterated.

While welcoming the NGT order on the capital city construction, Municipal Administration Minister Dr. P. Narayana said that the Government will follow all the guidelines set by the NGT and also MoEF while constructing Amaravati.

He observed that with the NGT order all hurdles in the construction of the capital city have been removed. Talking to reporters, he said that in the startup area, plots will be earmarked in 1691 acres and sold.  

He added that the plots will be developed in three phases. Tenders for the laying of roads in the capital region had been finalised and the work would start very soon and would be completed in 12 months.
