Rains increase groundwater level in Telangana

The department said the average groundwater level in August stood at 9.74 m below ground level (bgl), as compared to 10.13 m bgl in August 2016.

Hyderabad: The average groundwater level has risen this year when compared to 2017 according to an analysis done by the state groundwater department.  The department said the average groundwater level in August stood at 9.74 m below ground level (bgl), as compared to 10.13 m bgl in August 2016.

This marked a rise of 0.39 m. The minimum and maximum depth of water below the ground varied from 0.05 m in Asifabad mandal to 55.36 m bgl in Vikarabad mandal.
