HYDERABAD: BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy demanded that caretaker minister K.T. Rama Rao release a White Paper on the funds that the Centre had released to Telangana state. He wanted a comparative statement of funds released by the previous Congress governments and the Modi administration. He challenged Mr Rama Rao to check the Assembly records and see how many times Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had placed on record special thanks to the PM for supporting the state.

Rebutting Mr Rama Rao’s attack on BJP president Amit Shah, Mr Kishan Reddy said the TRS had lost legitimacy to seek votes as it failed to fulfil its promises. He called TRS a ‘Telangana Razakarla Samiti’. Criticising Mr Rama Rao for pointing to the advancing of the Gujarat elections, Mr Kishan Reddy said the minister was “immature” in understanding the conditions prevailing in that state as the Godhra issue sent convulsions across the state.

Mr Modi, then the Gujarat Chief Minister, had advanced the polls to bring order to society. What compelling reasons prevailed in Telangana state now for Mr Chandrasekhar Rao to go in for early elections, he asked. On Sunday, Mr Rama Rao had termed the BJP president ‘Bramit Shah’ (prone to illusions). Mr Kishan Reddy said it was “outrageous” and showed that the TRS leader “lacked maturity".

He said Mr Shah was a grassroots leader whereas Mr Rama Rao was imported from the USA when the KCR family found the Telangana cauldron right enough to leverage dividends. He said that the TRS had won the GHMC elections on a promise of double bedrooms which still remains unfulfilled. “This is enough to pack KCR and family into oblivion,” he said.
