BENGALURU: Nearly a week after the Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) registered FIRs, the 20 tainted officials who issued building plans to construct on raja kaluves are still missing.

ADGP T. Suneel Kumar said that all officials are on the run and have also switched off their mobile phones, fearing that the police would identify their locations.

Four officials approached the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday seeking relief against the complaints registered against them. But the court has directed them to appear before the investigating officer at 10.30 am on Thursday.

They have been warned that if they fail to appear, the police are at liberty to arrest them. Gangappha, Sunitha and Liyakath are among the four who approached the court, he said. Some of them have holed up in Delhi, while others are absconding. Notices are being served to their residential addresses.

Encroaching Congmen not touched: BJP
BJP city unit spokesman N.R. Ramesh on Wednesday accused the Siddaramaiah government of turning a blind eye to properties of Congressmen sitting on storm water drains and lakebeds in the city, while targeting the poor and leaving them homeless.

Claiming that former ministers K.J. George and Shamanur Shivashankarappa and MP M.V. Rajiv Gowda were among those guilty of encroaching the drains and buffer zones around lakes, he deplored that no action is being taken to demolish their properties.
