Telangana HC seeks facts from Telangana over R&R package

However, the bench didn’t issue any orders to authorities to not dispossess the petitioners, until they have been paid.

Hyderabad: The Telangana HC directed the state government to bring all the facts pertaining to the distribution of the cheques of Resettlement and Rehabilitation package to the oustees and affected families in the construction of Konda Pochamma Sagar, part of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project.

The division bench comprising ACJ Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Shameem Akhter was dealing with the petition filed by Thammala Srinivas and 24 other farmers hailing from the Mamidyala Village in the Mulug mandal.  

The petitioners contented that the Irrigation Department officials with the help of cops are forcibly dispossessing all the petitioners from their lands without paying them the requisite R&R package.

The bench inquired how many have been given cheques, how many are left over and has directed the state government to submit all the information on R&R package by June 24.  

However, the bench didn’t issue any orders to authorities to not dispossess the petitioners, until they have been paid.
