Hyderabad: The lack of a chairman for Setwin schemes for unemployed youth of the twin cities is leading to its activities taking a back seat. Setwin now functions under a managing director.

The post of chairman fell vacant following the resignation of Mir Inayat Ali Baquari. He tendered his resignation when the ruling party TRS asked him to contest the Assembly elections from Bahadurpura constituency.

Setwin was established in 1978 and functions under the department of youth services. It has 21 training centres in the twin cities. It offers 10 technical courses, 16 computer courses, five management courses and 16 women-oriented courses. Spokesperson of the Majlis Bachao Amjadullah Khan Khalid Tehreek alleged that Setwin functioned better till the last Telugu Desam regime
