Navy copter lands in paddy field at Muhamma

The Navy copter which made an emergency landing at Vadakekari Paddy field at Muhamma on Saturday following technical snag.

ALAPPUZHA: A Chetak helicopter of Southern Naval Command 'IN 413' which had taken off from INS Garuda naval air station, Kochi for a routine flight made an emergency landing at Vadakkekari paddy field near Ponnad at Muhamma on Saturday.  The copter landed at 11 am when the pilots Lt Balwinder and Lt Kiran observed an engine warning for low oil pressure. 

The pilots suddenly carried out a ‘safe precautionary landing’.  Later, a six member  technical team arrived at the site in two helicopters  and rectified the glitch by around 2 pm  and  flew back.  According to Navy sources,  there was a false alarm due to faulty indication. Hundreds of  surprised villagers from children to elderly people flocked to the  paddy field to see the helicopter.
