Expert calls for dialogue between Delhi and Kashmir

Hyderabad: India’s former top spy Vikram Sood said there would not be any peace talks between India and Pakistan in the future. “Pakistan doesn’t want them,” he said which speaking at the launch of his book, The Unending Games, in the city on Sunday.

The former chief of the Research and Analysis Wing batted for a combination of diplomacy, intelligence, military power, economic power, technological intelligence and human intelligence to win the war.

Administrative Staff College of India chairman K. Padmanabhaiah, a former Union home secretary, suggested that India needs to frame a national policy for Kashmir. “There is a need for a dialogue between Kashmir and Delhi. This apart, intelligence gathering has be one more complex. Because of fake news, there is voluminous spread of fake images and video that are of very little relevance,” he said. “The government invests millions in buying weapons. What they want is smart and effective intelligence which can prevent wars,” he said .  

Mr Sood’s book offers a peek into the little-understood world of spying to serve security interests. It opens a window into the world of spies from the Cold War era to the age of global jihad, covering surveillance states, psychological and cyber warfare.
