KTR to inaugurate school at Konapur on Sept. 20
KAMAREDDY: After Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao announced that he would contest from Kamareddy, his minister son K.T. Rama Rao will visit the constituency on September 20 to inaugurate the government school building, which was constructed with money out of his own pocket at his ancestors’ village Konapur in Bibipet mandal.
The minister had laid the foundation stone for the construction of the school in memory of his grandmother Venkatamma during his visit to the village.
The parents of KCR migrated from Konapur to Chinthamadaka in Siddipet district after their village faced submergence under the Upper Manair Dam (UMD) during the Nizam rule. Then the Posanipet village was renamed as Konapur after it became a rehabilitation village.
Rama Rao, who visited his ancestors’ house in the village, which was in a dilapidated condition, promised to construct a school with his personal funds.
The school building was constructed with state-of-the-art infrastructure in a spacious place, along with a children's park. Government whip, Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan was overseeing the arrangements for KTR’s visit. The residents of Konapur expressed happiness over the minister’s gesture.
