Kerala records highest single day spike of 3830 COVID cases

Kerala recorded the highest single day spike in Covid – 19 so far with 3830 cases on Wednesday even as 2263 persons recovered from the infection.

The active cases of Covid-9 in the state have gone up to 32,709.  Of the new cases 3562 persons (93 per cent) contracted the infection through contact, 49 came from abroad, 153 from other states, the source of infection among 350 persons is yet to be known, 66 health workers also  got infected. The state reported 14 deaths taking the toll to 480.

At present 2,11 lakh persons are under surveillance of which 1.87 lakh are under home/ institutional quarantine .
