Hyderabad: The night-time restrictions imposed at the AOC between 10 pm and 7 am ahead of Independence Day is likely to continue. It is not clear how long the restrictions will last.

The Army had announced restrictions of traffic at night from August 13 to 17 at the AOC crossroads citing security reasons ahead of Independence Day.

When motorists were taking the route on Friday night, the soldiers at the spot reportedly asked them to go back and cooperate with the security requirements. The restrictions may continue for a longer time, the guard said, according to a motorist.

Mr Robin Zaccheus, a resident of Sainikpuri who takes the road regularly, said, “My friend used the AOC Road on Independence Day post 10 pm and to his surprise he was not stopped. But on Friday while we were returning home, the motorists were asked to take the Trimulgherry road. When the guards were asked about the restrictions, they asked us to cooperate as it may be extended”.

Similar restrictions to civilian traffic were reported from the Jalandhar cantonment.
