Rains, to continue over 4-5 days in Bengaluru: MET

Due to the pressure gradient at Arabian Sea, there will be increase in wind speeds across the state and will continue for 4-5 days.

Bengaluru: With the monsoon covering the entire state, strong winds, cloudy skies and intermittent showers have become an everyday occurrence in the city. The strong winds have claimed several trees in the city, while motorists are finding it difficult to ride on wet and slippery roads.

An independent weather forecasting agency, Skymet, stated that the wind speed in the city is around 35kmph, while in coastal regions it is over 60 kmph.
C.S. Patil, forecaster in-charge at India Meteorological Department, Bengaluru, said, “Due to the pressure gradient at Arabian Sea, there will be increase in wind speeds across the state and will continue for 4-5 days.”

Light showers and strong winds are also expected to bring down the temperatures across the state. Over the next two days, temperatures are expected to hover around 26-27 degrees Celsius during the day and around 20 degrees Celsius in the night. Skymet said that the normal rainfall for the city for July is 112.9 mm and till July 10, the city received 36.2 mm.
