Heavy rains kill 10 in Kerala

The deaths were reported in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kannur, Malappuram and Wayanad districts.

THIRUVANANTHPURAM: Heavy rains continued to wreak havoc claiming ten lives in rain related incidents across the state on Monday. Over 2,000 persons have been shifted from affected areas to relief camps. Five persons have been reported missing. The deaths were reported in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kannur , Malappuram and Wayanad districts.

Three persons died in rain related incidents on Sunday. Rail and road traffic were badly hit in different parts of the state.  The collectors announced holiday for educational institutions in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts on Tuesday.
