Telangana: Expect another searing hot day

Hyderabad: The searing heat will continue on Wednesday, the Indian Meteorological Department announced on Tuesday even as the mercury topped the 46ºC mark in both Telugu states.

Nalgonda was the hottest place in the two states at 46.4ºC followed by Bapatla in AP at 46.3ºC and Bhadrachalam and Khammam in TS at 45.6ºC. Nationwide, Banda in UP was the hottest at 47ºC

The maximum temperature in the city was 42.4ºC on Tuesday. The IMD has predicted rain or thundershowers towards the evening or night at isolated places on Wednesday.

The IMD said the southwest monsoon may hit Kerala on May 30, with an error margin of plus or minus four days.

After it hits the Kerala coast, it would take 5-7 days to reach Rayala-seema and another five days to reach Telangana state, the IMD said.
