Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shobha Karandlaje on Friday alleged that by holding Tipu jayanthi celebrations in the State, the previous Congress party in power in the State had hatched a conspiracy to make Muslims fight Hindus. Tipu was a ruler during the Maharajas of Mysuru rule.

At a press conference in Bengaluru, she alleged that owing to the conspiracy hatched by the Congress party, Kuttappa, a resident of Madikeri was killed a couple of years back and claimed that she visited the spot where his body was found.

Shobha alleged that under the tenure of Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister, the State reported deaths of Hindu youths and charged that Siddaramaiah government did not conduct investigations into the deaths of Hindu youths in a proper way. But, Siddaramaiah had an ‘appeasement’ attitude towards a particular community.

She demanded an investigation into the alleged links between the Congress party and Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and termed that Popular Front of India, Karnataka Forum for Dignity and SDPI are another face of the Congress party.

Accusing Siddaramaiah government of releasing jailed about 1,700 activists of PFI and SDPI, she said that these elements came back to the society and engaged in stirring up communal harmony and pointed out at incidents such as DJ Halli in Bengaluru, attack on a police station in Mangaluru and also in Hubballi among others as an outcome of the release of PFI activists.

She alleged that Congress party when in power in the State helped SDPI and only a probe would throw light on the links between Congress and the SDPI. She stated that a detailed probe would establish the fact that SDPI is out there to help the Congress party in the elections.
