At Rs 50,000, murder is cheap in Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore: In yet another sensational disclosure in the honour killing of the Dalit youth, the police revealed that the gang from south Tamil Nadu which planned and executed the heinous murder was paid just an advance of Rs 50,000.

The special police team, which has nabbed five key accused in the honour killing case, has now launched a hunt for the kingpin of the gang, besides the Dalit youth's mother-in-law Annalaxmi and uncle Pandithurai.

The Dalit engineering student, who married upper caste Thevar girl Kausalya, was murdered by a gang hired by Kausalya's father, Chinnasamy, who surrendered before the police and is now lodged in jail.With investigations progressing, many shocking  details are tumbling out. A higher police official told DC that Chinnasamy, who is a finaniciear, had met a cab driver, Jagadeesan at their family temple near Dindigul a few years ago.
