Hyderabad: Sleepy driver causes mishap, 2 women killed

The driver fell asleep on the wheel which led to the accident, a police officer said.

Hyderabad: Two women were killed when their car rammed into a tree in Mancherial town late on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Konda Vijaya Laxmi, 52, an Anganwadi worker, and Salvandi Anasuya 43, of Rama-krishnapur, police said.

“The driver fell asleep on the wheel which led to the accident,” a police officer said.

Laxmi and her son’s relative Anusuya were returning from Hyderabad after receiving compensation given for the death of her son in an earlier road accident, according to the police.
