N Chanbdrababu Naidu to lay stone for ropeway works at kotappakonda

The ropeway will be a major tourist attraction.

GUNTUR: People’s wish of a ropeway facility to the ancient hilltop Trikoteswara Swamy temple on the Kotappakonda hill near Narasaraopeta will be a reality soon in Guntur district. The ropeway will be a major tourist attraction. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for the ropeway works and construction of JNTU-K University College of Engineering at Narasaraopeta on Saturday.

He will address a public meeting and would offer special prayers at the Kotappakonda temple. The Guntur district officials are making foolproof arrangements for the public meeting and also the for the other CM’s programmes. The people have to climb 750 steps to reach Kotappakonda through stairway or travel 3 km through ghat road. The government approved the ropeway proposals and sanctioned Rs 7 crore funds.

Mr Naidu will lay foundation, would inaugurate park, food court and amphitheater of tourism and forest departments on the hilltop Kotappakonda. Further Mr Naidu will lay foundation for the construction of JNTUK University College of Engineering at Kakani near Narasaraopeta where new buildings would be constructed with Rs 30 crore funds.
