KANNUR: The Yuva Morcha workers  took out a march to the Valapattanam police station on Friday alleging that it was showing favouritism  towards CPM men who were involved in attacking  BJP-RSS workers.   They shouted slogans against the officials for failing to arrest the culprits who indulged in violence against the RSS cadres.

It may be recalled that  the station had been honoured by the Union home ministry recently for recording low crime rate and bagging the ninth position in the country in this respect.  It has been a model station in the state for  curbing  crimes, speedy disposal of cases  and engaging in social activities along with the public.

Yuva Morcha state secretary K.P. Arun, who inaugurated the march, alleged that for the past two years, the police had taken no action in many cases, not even registered  a case, when the BJP-RSS leaders and workers were attacked and their houses were destroyed.

He cited the cases of  the destruction of Nithyananda school at  Puthiya Theru, attack on the house and vehicle of BJP mandalam secretary P. Biju, the attack on RSS leader Binoy and the Neerkkadavu bombing. “The police  do not register a case and nab the culprits when the victims are connected to the Sangh Parivar,” said Mr Arun. Yuva Morcha district president C.C. Ratheesh, mandalam president M. Arjun and secretary  K.V. Arjun  spoke.
