Visakhapatnam: The investigation into the recent private hospital fire in Visakhapatnam is complete, with the report set for submission to the collector on Saturday. Revenue divisional officer D. Hussain Saheb confirmed he will present the findings compiled by the five-member committee, led by district fire officer S. Runukaiah, after their 24-hour deadline.

"I will submit the report tomorrow, and the collector will take appropriate action after reviewing it," Saheb stated, declining to reveal details before the official presentation.

The fire, triggered by a short circuit in the operation theatre, caused thick smoke to billow from the second floor of the 120-bed facility on Thursday. Thankfully, all patients and staff safely evacuated to nearby hospitals, avoiding injuries.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on his way out of Visakhapatnam after a kidney hospital inauguration in Srikakulam, promptly ordered an inquiry, leading to the formation of the investigation team.
