Food outlets at Kannur International Airport within a week

Three stalls are being set up inside the terminal while two have already started functioning at the departure area outside the terminal.

The airport company has floated a tender seeking a partner to set up and operate the duty-free shop and the tender process is still ongoing.

Kannur: Food and beverage stalls inside the passenger terminal building at Kannur International Airport will be ready in week’s time, informed the airport authorities. Three stalls are being set up inside the terminal while two have already started functioning at the departure area outside the terminal.

''Three stalls inside the terminal which are under installation are expected to start functioning soon, hopefully in a week's time,'' said K.S.Shibukumar, Chief Project Engineer, Kannur Internatio-nal Airport.

Addressing media at the pre-inauguration press conference, Kannur Inte-rnational Airport MD V.Thulasidas had said that F and B stalls, and the duty-free shop would not be functioning in the initial days after the inauguration of the airport.  The airport company has floated a tender seeking a partner to set up and operate the duty-free shop and the tender process is still ongoing. 

A tourist information desk managed by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) is expected to start functioning at the arrival area soon. The viewers' gallery, where the public can watch aircraft landing and take-off, will also be opened soon. The airport company has invited tender to operate the gallery where public can enter by purchasing tickets.
