Abuse claim: Temple official kills himself

Visakhapatnam: Panduranga Swamy Temple executive officer K. Nageswara Rao, 58, was found dead on the temple office premises near RK Beach. Police said that he has committed suicide by hanging around 9 am on Saturday morning.

In his suicide note, he mentioned that the endowments deputy commissioner had recently removed him from the duty based on false accusations of sexual abuse by the wife of a temple archaka (priest). This has led him to take the extreme step. The endowments deputy commissioner has not responded to the calls and messages to comment on the issue. 

The deceased EO is survived by his wife, son and daughter. His wife has filed a complaint at three-town police station. Police registered a case and sub-inspector B. Ramanayya is investigating the alleged sexual harassment charges.
