Except J Shantha, other BJP nominees file papers

She has another day to file hers as November 16 is the last day for filing of nominations.

The local people are putting up boards asking BJP leaders not to enter their villages for various reasons.

Bengaluru: Except its candidate for Ballari, J. Shantha, all other candidates of the BJP filed their nominations for the November 3 Lok Sabha and assembly bypolls on Monday. 

She has another day to file hers as  November 16 is the last day for filing of nominations. Retired commercial tax officer, Dr. Siddaramaiah, who quit the Congress to join the party last week, filed his nomination for the Mandya Lok Sabha bypoll accompanied by Mandya district BJP president, Naganna and other party leaders. State party chief, B S Yeddyurappa’s son, B.Y. Raghavendra, filed his papers  for the Shivamogga bypoll in the presence of senior BJP leader, K.S. Eshwarappa, MLA, Halappa and former MLC, Banuprakash.

Congress MLC C M Lingappa’s son,  Chandrashekar, who also recently joined the BJP,  filed his nomination for the Ramanagara Assembly bypoll accompanied by Union Minister, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, former MLA, C.P. Yogishwar and senior leader, R. Ashok. 

BJP leader, Srikanth Kulakarni filed his nomination for  the Jamakhandi assembly bypoll in the presence of several leaders of his party.  The BJP claims it is confident of winning both Lok Sabha constituencies as the Congress has not fielded strong candidates against it and has given  Shivamogga to JD(S).

Mr Madhu Bangarappa, son of late Chief Minister, S Bangarappa, will file his nomination on Tuesday for the Shivamogga LS bypoll in the presence of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, according to JD(S) sources.
