Bengaluru: BJP woman corporator, Congress leader in catfight

The two women leaders fainted after attacking each other.

Bengaluru: High drama prevailed on Monday afternoon in Bank Colony in J.P. Park Ward when the BJP woman corporator and a local woman Congress leader assaulted each after an altercation over road repair works. Both the women have filed complaints with the police.  The Congress leader, Sunantha, who had contested the BBMP elections and lost to Mamatha Vasudev, the BJP corporator from JP Park ward, went on an inspection of road repair works on Sunday. The works are being carried out from MLA’s fund in Bridavan Garden.

Mamatha, her husband and their supporters reached the spot and questioned Sunantha. Soon, an argument ensued between the two groups which led to a scuffle. The two women leaders fainted after attacking each other.

They were rushed to a hospital, where they were given first-aid. Later, they approached the jurisdictional police station and filed complaints against each other. Yeshwanthpura police, who are investigating the case, said that they going through the contents of both the complaints and evidence produced by both parties for further action.
