THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress leaders have hailed the Kerala High Court order to remove con woman Saritha S. Nair’s letter against former chief minister Oommen Chandy from the solar commission’s report. Mr  Chandy said that   the  report  had become  irrelevant as  Saritha’s letter was the most crucial aspect in it.

However, he clarified that in spite of the  court order,  he would not take up any official position in the party. “There was no evidence against me other than the forged letter written by Saritha. Now the ball is in the people’s court  to evaluate the LDF government’s actions,”  Mr  Chandy told  reporters here. Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala  said  the solar commission report had  lost its credibility.

“The LDF government’s attempts to  hunt down political rivals have  failed,”  he said.  Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s plans to take cases against everyone  mentioned in Saritha’s letter had been foiled, he said. KPCC president M. M. Hassan said the  verdict was a setback to the LDF government and asked  Mr Pinarayi Vijayan to apologise to Mr Chandy for defaming him.
