Bhadradri-Kothagudem now under Niti Ayog

Khammam: Bhadradri-Kothagudem district will be brought under the scanner of Niti Ayog. As part of this game plan, ministry of home affairs has adopted the district and five officers will look after the program.

The aim of the government is to raise the living standards of the people of the district and ensuring inclusive growth for all.

To enable optimum utilisation of their potential, this program focuses closely on improving people’s ability to participate fully in the burgeoning economy. The Union home ministry adopted 115 districts under the program and Bhadradri, Bhupalapalli and Asifabad districts in TS were among them. Checking the left-wing extremism in the areas through development is the core idea of the program.

Health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development, and basic infrastructure are this programme’s core areas of focus.

After several rounds of consultations with various stakeholders, 49 key performance indicators have been chosen to measure progress of the Bhadradri district. The selected areas are prodded and encouraged to first catch up with the best district within their state, and subsequently aspire to become one of the best in the country.
