Invite every house for Kanti Velugu: Harish Rao

HYDERABAD: Health minister T. Harish Rao, during a video conference with District Collectors on Monday, reviewed the preparation of the second phase of the Kanti Velugu programme to be launched on Wednesday in Khammam.

The programme will be launched by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday and will begin in the other districts on January 19. During the meeting on Monday, Harish Rao said the police should provide adequate security to prevent any untoward incident during the Kanti Velugu camps.

After the launch by the Chief Minister, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, ZP chairmen
and ZPTC, MPTC, sarpanchs should start the programme in their districts on
January 19 at 9 am, he said.

The minister said collectors and DMHOs in the districts should ensure that each team starts the camps on time by coordinating through WhatsApp groups.

People should be informed of the camps in advance and an invitation letter should be given to every house. The minister ordered the officials to take steps to provide necessary supplies, medicines and spectacles to each medical team for running the camp.

Harish Rao added that awareness should be created among people to make them aware that they need to bring their Aadhaar cards to the camps. The minister ordered MPOs, MPDOs, Tehsildars and Mandal Special Officers in the districts to inspect the camps under their jurisdiction every day.

Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, who participated in the video conference, said authorities should work in such a way that the eye camps are available to more people and be careful to not make even a small mistake.
