ADILABAD: Khandala Ghat, about 20 km from Adilabad, with hills, forests, and valleys has attracted many tourists during the Sankranti festival holidays, including from faraway Hyderabad.

Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna said a watchtower will be constructed atop this ghat for providing visitors a bird eye view of the area. He asked visitors not to pollute the area with plastic bottles or covers. These must be put in dustbins that are being provided at identified spots.

Most visitors to the area take advantage of the locale for photo shoots. Some of them, however, also bring liquor and create a nuisance in the area. Local Adivasi youth have raised objections to such parties. They say they have no problem if visitors limit themselves to enjoying the scenic beauty with their families.

Atram Venkatesh of Adilabad, who recently visited Khandala ghat along with his family, said they enjoyed the scenic beauty of the area and took many photographs.
