Chennai: Six detained under Goondas Act

The accused were involved in smuggling, theft, snatching, murder and attempt to murder cases, police said.

Chennai: The city police have arrested six men with criminal records under Goondas Act on Tuesday. The arrest was made on the orders of city police commissioner A.K. Viswanathan.The accused were identified A.Dinesh (28) of Kolathur, S.KrishnaKanth (28) of Anannur, D. Sahayamoorthy (26) of Red Hills, B.Ananthan (22) of Permbakkam and R. Sivan (31) of T.Nagar. Police said they were habitual offenders and have a series of criminal cases booked against them in city police stations.

The accused were involved in smuggling, theft, snatching, murder and attempt to murder cases,  police said, The accused despite being nabbed several times, had again gone back to the life of crime.Based on the order of commissioner A.K Viswanathan city police detained the six under Goondas Act on Tuesday.
