Nizamabad: Against the backdrop of widespread viral fevers, hospitals, pathological laboratories and medical shops are making brisk business in composite Nizamabad district.

For the last 45 days, both private and government hospitals witnessed a huge number of fever victims come in. Reportedly, suspected dengue cases are turning into money-making opportunities for a few hospitals and labs.

Fluctuations in temperature and unhygienic conditions in towns and villages cause viral fevers. Shockingly, all age groups people have been suffering fevers. Suspecting dengue fever, the victims rushed to private hospitals and labs for proper medication. In composite Nizamabad district, Nizamabad, Bodhan, Armoor, Kamareddy and Banswada towns saw a huge number of fever victims.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, lab technician Darshnam Shravan Kumar said that they are busy with the testing of fever victims. Fever victims are tested for malaria, typhoid and dengue fevers as advised by the doctors, he said. For the first time in recent times, labs and medical shops have been working extra hours, he opined. Complete blood tests ascertain the disease for proper medication, he explained.
