Kamareddy: 32 students escape major road mishap; six injured

The bus was travelling to Tadwai and Demikalan villages to pick up students when it reached near the Tadwai the driver lost control of the vehicle.

KAMAREDDY: Around 32 students narrowly escaped a road accident at Tadwai mandal headquarters on Wednesday. The school bus in which the victims were travelling rammed into a road side earth bund. Six students sustained injuries in the mishap and were shifted to Government Area Hospital in Kamareddy.

According to the police, Gowtham Model School bus was travelling to Tadwai and Demikalan villages to pick up students on Thursday. When it reached near the Government Junior College in Tadwai, school, bus driver Sudhakar allegedly lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into the earth bund dug for flow of flood water.

Villagers in the area quickly responded and rescued the children from the bus.

The victims were shifted in the 108 ambulance.

Tadwai SI P. Anjaiah took the school bus driver into custody and registered a case.

It is believed that rash and negligent driving may be the reason for the accident. If the school bus overturned, it would have been more fatal, the police said.
