Vijayawada: A circular issued by the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust withdrawing medical service packages in network hospitals across Hyderabad and other TS districts has come under severe criticism from APNGOs and beneficiaries of health schemes.

The Trust has given exemption to a few services like surgical oncology, surgical radiology and others.

Beneficiaries of health schemes have responded negatively to the decision. “A majority of employees have shifted to Amaravati but our families still live in Hyderabad. Stopping the services there will create problems,” said K. Jyotirmayi, a Secretariat employee.

“Many super speciality services are now available in AP, but some sectors need to improve. The circular is not new and earlier, a GO was issued on the same lines,” said APNGOs’ president P. Ashok Babu.
