Kozhikode: 2 held for bid to abduct, rape two sisters

KOZHIKODE: Two youngsters who tried to abduct and rape two sisters near Elathur were arrested on Wednesday. They took the minor schoolgirls to a rented accommodation at Kooduthumpoyil on Wednesday. The locals found them under suspicious circumstances and handed them over to police. The Elathur police said the youngsters who were friends with girls and offered them expensive mobiles. Akhilesh, the main accused, said the phones were at his house and took them on bikes.

The local people, who noticed the girls along with the boys, questioned them. Though Akilesh and his friend tried to flee the spot, they were caught by the people and handed over to the police.

The girls told the police that they went with the boys as their mother had refused to give them mobile phones. They were sent back with their parents later.
