Visakhapatnam: Post the gusty winds and heavy rains, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Prakasam and Anantapur districts have been slowly limping back to normalcy with absence of rains from Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the remnant system of cyclone Vardah has weakened into a well-marked low pressure on Tuesday and propelled deep into Karnataka. The system will further enter the Arabian Sea, losing its impact on the Indian coast.

Under the influence of this, Nellore, Prakasam and Chittoor districts received good rains. The sky was clear in the evening in Chittoor and Nellore, which were battered by the cyclone on Monday. As the weather system moved far away from AP, dry weather will prevail from Wednesday. The power supply, which was cut off, was restored in most parts of Chittoor and Nellore districts by evening. But the heavy rains damaged paddy crops, papaya, banana trees and mango orchards in south coastal AP.
