Accused in RJ murder still stuck in Qatar

Thiruvananthapuram: Qatar-based businessman Abdul Sathar who gave quotation to murder RJ Rajesh at Madavoor in March remains at large around five months after his killing.

Abdul Sathar who faced a travel ban due to financial issues was still stuck  in Qatar. The district rur-al police has filed charge sheet against 10 out of the 11 accused in RJ Rajesh murder case including the four-member hit-squad.

“We are still keeping a tab of his activities. The pressure was being exerted on him to surrender but legal issues in the middle-east country were the hurdle,” a police official said.

Abdul Sathar gave quotation to murder Rajesh for his alleged love affair with his ex-wife. Rajesh was a folk singer and used to work at a radio station at Doha where she met the woman. The woman who was on phone with the victim at the time of the murder was the first to inform on the attack to Rajesh’s friend.

As per the charges, Sathar entrusted his gym instructor Saleh and his friends who plotted and executed the murder of Rajesh. Victims' wife who was pregnant at the time of murder later delivered a child.
