Amaravati: Macharla MLA of Andhra Pradesh took a holy dip in the ghat of Telangana state alleging bias by the AP officials.

Macharla MLA of YSR Congress, P. Ramakri-shna Reddy alleged that the officials did not invite him to the official programmes at the ghats in his Macharla constituency. He further alleged that yellow colour of the Telugu Desam was painted on the ghats resembling Krishna Pushkaralu as the TD-sponsored programme.

He lamented that the officials totally violated protocol norms and invited TD leaders instead of the local MLA, which shows bias toward the elected MLA. He said that this saddened him and so he decided to perform holy Pushkar bath in the ghat of Telangana state.

Mr Ramakrishna Reddy went to the pylon ghat at Vijyapuri in Nagarjunasagar project on the other end of Krishna river in the Telangana state and performed Pushkar rituals including a holy bath.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that Krishna Pushkaralu is a religious programme but AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu turned it into a TD programme by yellowing all the ghats. He alleged that TD leaders benefitted with Pushkar works by getting contracts on nomination. He praised the arrangements of the Telangana government for Pushkaralu on the occasion.
