Land dispute: YSRC, Telugu Desam activists clash

VIJAYAWADA: A land dispute turned into a group clash between two parties at the Tubadu village of Nadendla mandal in Guntur district on Saturday.
According to the victim V. Jeevan Babu’s wife Jyothi Prasanna, the YSR Congress supporter Devarapalli Koteswara Rao tried to plant a sapling in front of their house at Tubadu village on Saturday evening, and then launched an attack on them with an axe. In the fight that ensued, Jyothi Prasanna was slapped by one of the YSR Congress activists. Telugu Desam supporters Jeevan Babu and Sagar were injured in the incident.

According to Nadendla sub-inspector D. Chennakesavulu, Devarapalli Koteswara Rao was planting a sapling in the disputed site, while the owners of the house opposite the site, tried to stop their activity which led to the clash between two families.

He said that the police had booked a case based on the report of Jyothi Prasanna and were conducting an inquiry.
