Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri police has registered a case against an employee of Srinivasa Creations over film shooting on the Moula Ali hillock, a sacred place for the Shia community, in violation of the instructions of the minority welfare department

Malkajgiri station house Officer A. Man Mohan said a complaint lodged by one Shaik Nizamuddin Hyder had been registered under Section 188 for disobedience of an order promulgated by a public servant against one Bhikshpati of Srinivasa Creations.

Mr Nizamuddin said the Moula Ali hillock was a religious place and the department of minorities welfare had banned certain activities including cinematography in 2016.

On Wednesday, he said, he observed that a film crew was preparing to shoot a film. When he inquired with one Bhikshpati of the film crew, he was told that superintendent Sayeed of the Moula Ali Waqf institution had been informed but he did not get any written permission. Mr Nizamuddin said this hurt his religious sentiments and demanded that the Wakf Board take stern action against Mr Sayeed who allowed cinematography at the sacred place.
