GHMC: 355 illegal structures in IT hub

GHMC officials identified as many as 335 illegal constructions in IT corridor but no action has been taken so far.

The GHMC will form an action team to raze illegal structures near Durgam Cheruvu and book violators, GHMC commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy said.

Hyderabad: GHMC officials identified as many as 335 illegal constructions in IT corridor but no action has been taken so far. The highest number was recorded within Serilingampally Circle-11 with 161 structures followed by 137 at Circle-12, 19 (Kukatpally-14a) and 18 (Kukatpally-14b).

GHMC commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy said the activities of the civic body on illegal structures were dynamic. “We have identified nearly 8,000 illegal constructions and demolished 1,813 of them this year. We continue the demolition drives. We’ll form special enforcement teams,” he said.
