Model G20 Ends At IIT-H, Seven Awarded

 Hyderabad: Seven winners from across the country were awarded prizes at the conclusion of the six-month-long Model G20 at IIT Hyderabad on Friday.

The seven winners were given a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each

The winners were:  Divyansh Joshi, Vellore Institute of Technology, Bhopal, for 'Women Empowerment'; Sourav Jyoti Baishya, Agricultural University, Assam, for 'Lifestyle for Environment'; Sumirini Puppala, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University, Odisha, for 'Progress on Sustainable Development Goals'; Sushree Sangeeta Behera, Samanta Chandrasekhar College, Puri, for 'Climate change and its impact'; Hitaishi Chakravarty of KD Dental College and Hospital, Mathura, for 'Sustainable Living'; Anaya Degloorkar ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, for 'Revitalising Global Governance'; and Malvika Jayakumar, IIT-Bombay,  for 'Circular Economy and Lifestyle for Environment'.

Speaking at the event, K. Sanjay Murthy, Union higher education secretary, said, "We are taking the lead in enhancing digital public infrastructure, evident in projects like SWAYAM and DISHA at the school level. One of the major highlights during India's G20 presidency was the focus on research and the mobility of students and researchers."

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa of India, shared an electronic message, saying, "The G-20 initiative, which engages students from over 60,000 degree colleges, universities, and technical institutions, is designed to expose them to the complexities of multilateral discussions on global challenges and pressing policy issues.
