Ponnala Laxmaiah’s kin dies in accident

According to the Gachi-bowli police, the victim, K. Drupad, 22, was searching of a job in the city.

Hyderabad: A graduate from Warangal, a relative of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee former president Ponnala Laxmaiah, was killed in a road accident when the speeding bike which he was riding met with an accident at Gachibowli on Monday.

According to the Gachi-bowli police, the victim, K. Drupad, 22, was searching of a job in the city. He was staying at Khajaguda and had enrolled into a course in digital marketing at Madhapur.

On Monday evening, Drupad went to drop his friend Krishna Chaitanya at a hostel in Financial District and was returning to his place from Q City to Wipro Circle on a bike (TS03 EQ 8223) at around 4.10 pm.

Police said the accident occurred when Drupad was speeding and lost control of the bike and rammed into a car which had halted at a signal and then hit the divider. He was not wearing a helmet and died on the spot, said the police.

“Drupad was riding the bike in a rash manner at high speed. He lost control of the bike and hit a car which was waiting at a signal and hit the median. He suffered a head injury and died on the spot,” said Gachibowli inspector R. Srinivas.

The inspector said that Drupad was a grandson of Congress leader Laxma-iah’s sister. A case has under Section 304 A of the IPC has been booked.
