FB post wishes on mom’s wedding
Gokul describes how he stood by his mother, who was divorced from dad.
Kollam: Mini of Kottiyam, Mukathala, has all the blessings of the world for her second married life with retired colonel Venu hailing from Thodupuzha. The happy news was broken by her son Gokul Sreedhar, 23, an engineering graduate, in a Facebook post saying, "It is the marriage of my mother." He describes how he stood by his mother, who was divorced from his father in 2004 while he was just 15. Mini had to quit her job as a teacher due to family issues then. "She suffered a lot for me in a marriage that was a disaster. When I walked out along with her after their divorce, I had taken a decision for this moment," Gokul says in his post.
They later lived in the houses of their relatives before shifting to a house received as maintenance from his father. She earned a nominal income by working as a librarian while Gokul's education expenses were borne by his father.
The thought that his mother would be left alone when he gets a job made him persuade her to agree for the second marriage, says Gokul, who is an area secretary of SFI in Kottiyam.
