Hassan: Train services via Sakleshpur in Hassan connecting Bengaluru and Mangaluru remained suspended on Tuesday for a second day in succession in view of the need to clear the debris on the tracks and repair them. However, there were no reports of any fresh landslides on the train route on Tuesday.

Train services came to a halt on the route on Monday owing to landslides on the tracks near Yedakumari railway station in Sakleshpur. Officials concerned might run a goods train on the track before passengers trains are allowed on the route.

"We need to have a trial run on the route before passengers services resume unless there are no more rains in the Ghat," said Public Relations Officer and Divisional Commercial Manager Yatish to Deccan Chronicle on Tuesday.
