Hyderabad: The Telangana state Labour Department held conciliatory talks with Tech Mahindra representatives and retrenched techies on Monday. According to officials, the IT firm sought more time to look into the objections raised by the techies.

During the talks held before the joint commissioner, Ranga Reddy district, the techies stated that they were terminated from service without being assigned a proper reason. They said that they had proof to back their claims on attendance, contributions in projects they worked on and official e-mail interactions with their superiors.

According to Mr Kiran Chandra of the Forum for IT Professionals, who is supporting the techies, another meeting will be held on June 30.

“We oppose the way companies are terminating the services of employees. These decisions are not easy to digest and techies are getting depressed by the manner in which this is being carried out. Our forum supports their fight,” he said.
